Review Of Upgraded International Class Rules for 2016

After a tremendous effort by working members of the Technical Committee, Part 1 of the Class Rules Upgrades has been completed and Part 2 is now being entered. This involves sending the Drafts and explanations of changes to the members for “peer review” and comment by 19th December, 2015.

Following and attached is important information concerning the much anticipated rules upgrades for:

International A,
International Marblehead and
International 10R.

After more than 12 months, the IRSA Technical Committees working on the rules have now reach the second stage of development and this is where the National Members come in.

These Stages include:

Stage 1: Analysis and consultation by the IRSA Technical committees to produce upgraded drafts for review
Stage 2: Member review of the drafts
Stage 3: Final drafts presented to the Executive Committee of the IRSA for further review and possible acceptance
Stage 4: After Executive Committee acceptance, the rules are then published to the IRSA Members.

If you have questions or requests for changes to take please contact to your national organization, which was prompted on the proposed changes position.

A few notes about the documents:

  1. You will notice that they are not fully edited at this stage. That will happen at the final draft, so please don’t focus on any minor fonting or spelling issues.
  2. There is a high level of consistency in presentation and layout across the three sets of rules. This has been done on purpose by the committees.
  3. There is an introduction to the changes to help you quickly understand the proposed major upgrades in the rules.
  4. Part 1 – Administration is in a separate file. This will be the same for all three class rules.

Please note correspondence from individuals will need to come through that person’s Designated National Member.
